SPEED BLUE
The European directive 1999/96/EG and the Italian legislative decree of 25/05/2001 presume:
- Since 01/10/2006 it’s forbidden the registration, the sale and the utilize of new heavy vehicles (over 16 ton), moved by a combustion engine, if their emissions aren’t under the limit of the rule EURO 4 (NOx < 3,5 g/kWh);
- Since 01/10/2009 it will come into force the rule EURO 5 (Nox < 2,0 g/kWh);
ACEA (Association Des Constructeurs Europeens D’Automomobiles) assemble Company like DAF, Daimler Chrysler, Iveco, MAN, Renault, Scania and Volvo. ACEA has chosen the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system to reduce the Nox.
SCR systems thanks to SPEED BLUE action (product basis of urea in accordance with the rule DIN 70070) transform the nitrogen’s oxides into gaseous oxide and steam (natural components that are present in the air).
SPEED BLUE is a urea’s watery solution (32,5%) contained into a specific tank. It’s atomized on fuel’s gas. Attention! Don’t ever supply the diesel’s petrol tank with SPEED BLUE.
It isn’t necessary fill the petrol tank with SPEED BLUE every diesel’s refuelling. SPEED BLUE utilizes about 4% of the diesel’s use for EURO 4 and about 6% for EURO 5. This correspond to a SPEED BLUE’s consumption of about 1,6 liter / 100 km during motorway travel.
